St. Patrick’s DayA huge parade closes downtown streets every March.
  1. The Historic District

Streets downtown are narrow, many run one way around the squares, and live oak limbs hang low. A full-size carrier usually meets you on a wider street or in a lot just outside the squares.

  2. The islands

Tybee and Wilmington Island are reached by causeway, and The Landings on Skidaway is gated. Clear the driver with the gate, or meet on the mainland side on busy summer weekends.

  3. Storm season

From June through November, a storm offshore can push pickup dates. Carriers wait until the roads are safe, and we’ll keep you posted if your window moves.

  4. Coming up from Florida?

Jacksonville is about 140 miles down I-95. See our Florida to Georgia page for that lane.

FAQ

Savannah FAQ

Can the carrier get into the Historic District?

Often not to your door. The squares, one-way streets and low oak limbs make it tight for a full-size carrier. The driver will call ahead and meet you at the closest spot with room to load.

What happens if a hurricane is coming?

Safety comes first. Carriers hold off until the storm passes and the roads reopen. If your dates move, we’ll tell you right away and set a new window.

I’m stationed at Fort Stewart. Can you pick up in Hinesville?

Yes. We arrange pickup in Hinesville and around the post, usually at a lot outside the gate. If you serve or served, ask about our military discount.
