Indiana Questions
Can I ship a car in or out of Indianapolis during the Indy 500?
Yes, with some planning. Race weekend falls on Memorial Day weekend, and crowds and road closures around the Speedway last for days. If you’re on the west side of the city, schedule pickup or delivery before or after that weekend.
Do you ship cars for students at IU, Purdue and Notre Dame?
Yes. Book move-in early: August is busy in Bloomington, West Lafayette and South Bend. Ask about our student discount; proof of enrollment is required.
How do snowbirds ship a car from Indiana to Florida?
Give us both addresses and your dates. Most loads run south on I-65 or I-75, and October to December is the busy stretch heading down. Book a few weeks ahead, and book the trip home before March if you can.
I just moved to Indiana. How long do I have to register my car?
Indiana gives new residents 60 days. You’ll title and register at a BMV branch, and a car from out of state may need a VIN inspection first. Some cars in Lake and Porter counties also need an emissions test. Check the Indiana BMV for your county.
What does it cost to ship a car to or from Indiana?
Distance, the vehicle, open or enclosed, and the season. Indianapolis is easy for carriers to reach, which can help. Get an exact quote or call (424) 453-1800.

The Crossroads of America
Indiana’s motto is a fair description of its roads. I-65, I-69, I-70 and I-74 all meet in Indianapolis, and the Indiana Toll Road carries traffic between Chicago and Ohio across the top of the state. That means carriers pass through Indiana constantly. Pickups near an interstate are usually simple. Rural roads and small towns may mean meeting at a lot on the main highway.
May in Indianapolis
The Indianapolis 500 brings huge crowds to the town of Speedway on Memorial Day weekend, with practice and qualifying in the weeks before. Roads around the track close and traffic backs up on the west side. If your car is coming or going near the Speedway in late May, pick a date before or after race weekend.
College Move-In
Indiana University, Purdue, Notre Dame, Ball State and Butler all move in during August, and the weeks around move-in fill up fast. Book early, choose a weekday, and plan on meeting the carrier at a lot near campus rather than a dorm. See student car shipping for more.
