  1. Bungalow and two-flat blocks

On the North and Northwest Sides, blocks of bungalows and two-flats have cars parked on both sides and low trees over the street. Expect to meet the driver on a main avenue like Western, Ashland or Irving Park.

  2. High-rises downtown

In the Loop, River North, Streeterville and the South Loop, a carrier can’t pull into a garage. Check with the front desk about a loading zone, and have the car at street level when the driver calls.

  3. Winter parking

From December 1 to April 1, some main streets ban overnight parking, and a big snow brings more bans. Park legally the night before pickup so the car isn’t towed.

FAQ

Questions About Chicago

Can the carrier take Lake Shore Drive?

No. Trucks aren’t allowed on Lake Shore Drive, so carriers come in on the expressways. If you live near the lake, plan a meeting spot a few blocks west.

Does the winter parking ban affect pickup?

It can. Some main streets ban overnight parking from December to April, and snow brings more bans. Make sure the car is parked legally the night before.

How far is Chicago from Orlando?

About 1,150 miles, mostly on I-65 and I-75 by way of Atlanta.
