A lateral move to a new department, an academy class, or a 13-week travel contract across the country: the start date is set, so the car has to get there too. We arrange the carrier, so you can fly in rested and pick up your car when it arrives.

Travel Nurses: Shipping for a 13-Week Contract
Most travel contracts run about 13 weeks, and many get extended. Driving from one assignment to the next can eat the days between contracts that you’d rather spend resting. Shipping lets you fly. Book as soon as the contract is signed, and tell us three things: your start date, your housing address, and whether its parking can fit a large truck. Downtown buildings and furnished rentals often can’t, so the driver meets you at a nearby lot instead. When the contract ends, ship the car home or on to the next city the same way.
First Responders Moving to a New Department
Lateral transfers and new hires usually come with a hard start date, an academy schedule or a probation period when time off is hard to get. Ship the car and fly in. If you’re on shift when the driver arrives, a family member, roommate or friend can hand over the car and sign the inspection report for you.
Agency Vehicles
Departments moving patrol cars or unmarked units can ship them like any other car. Tell us about light bars, push bumpers and anything else mounted, because they change the height and fit. For several units, see fleet vehicle transport.
The Discount
Police officers, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics, and travel nurses can ask about our discount when they quote or call. We’ll ask for proof before the car ships, like a department ID or letter, an EMT or paramedic card, or your current travel contract. Black out anything you don’t need to share. How the discount works.
Before Pickup
- Take out uniforms, gear and anything loose. Personal items generally aren’t covered by the carrier’s insurance.
- Remove toll tags and parking passes.
- Leave about a quarter tank of fuel.
- Photograph every side the day of pickup.
Questions From the Field
What if my start date changes?
Tell us as soon as you know, and we’ll adjust the pickup plan. Changes are easiest before a carrier is assigned. Any cancellation terms are in your booking confirmation.
Can I ship my car straight to my next assignment?
Yes. Ship it from one contract city to the next, or home at the end, the same way.
Who qualifies for the discount?
Police officers, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics, and travel nurses, with proof. See how it works, and ask when you quote or call.
I’m on shift on pickup day. What now?
A roommate, family member or friend can hand over the car for you. Give us their name and number. They check the car with the driver and sign the inspection report.
